The Sound Feed, in association with Sin É Dublin, are delighted to present our third monthly show-piece of the cream of independent Irish musical talent at one of Dublin’s most well-loved music venues. For our next show on Friday 20th of October, we will be treated to two amazing electronic acts in the form of Dublin-based trio Tanjier and Cork-based solo act Trick Mist.

Doors are at 8:30pm and this is a FREE event.

Tanjier:

Tanjier are the sound of dark electro-pop lurking in the shadows; the sound of isolation in orange dimly lit city streets. They are a trio based in Dublin, Ireland.

Electronic beats, growling synths, syncopated rhythms, catchy guitar hooks and haunting vocals, Tanjier are modern musical story-tellers. In their lyrics, they have explored ideas like prostitution, mental health, youth and nostalgia. They provide a soundtrack for people living through the ironies of the modern age; how people are becoming addicted to social media while forgetting about developing meaningful social relationships. Songs about how people become attached to their vices but detached from reality.

Off the back of their second year in a row playing Electric Picnic (winning the RTÉ 2FM Play the Picnic title in 2016 out of over 400 acts) and earning multiple plaudits from online and offline music critics, numerous radio appearances (including two live sessions on RTÉ’s 2FM), Tanjier will headline The Sound Feed’s latest showcase in one of Dublin’s most beloved venues, Sin É.

Trick Mist:

Trick Mist is an electronic songwriter based in Cork. His music positions the lyrical song within a wider experimental electronic context. An intriguing blend of lyrics, traditional Irish music odes and homemade samples form a sound which moves you inside and out.

He emerged in October 2015 with his debut EP ‘Jars in Rows’. The self-produced observational EP was made after the Louth native’s relocation to Manchester. The 4 track EP and its adjoining conceptual video project received widespread rave reviews and coverage from State.ie, The Thin Air, Broadsheet, Headstuff, Remy, Hotpress(Hot For 2016) and airplay from 2fm(Dan Hegarty), Amazing Radio(Simon Raymonde), TXFM, 2xm, Dublin City FM and Salford City Radio.

A split 7” single with Video Blue followed in June 2016. The independent release available in stores across the UK and Ireland like Rough Trade (London), Tower (Dublin), Classified (Dundalk) and Piccadilly (Manchester) continued to turn heads.

With Cork as his new home, another single is set for release in Autumn this year and a debut album is in the works for early 2018 from the Dundalk native.

‘Intensely deep, experimental music that seems to throb in your ear long after you cease to listen and a clearcut lyrical vision with astute electronic compositions’ – www.state.ie
