Rocstrong – Interview

We were lucky enough to have Irish funk/soul star Rocstrong in to the studio for a chat with us last week. Here we talk all things music, Coen brothers and wearing large animal heads in the middle of a desert!

Having slowly exploded  onto  the  Irish  music  scene  in  2014,  Irish singer-songwriter Andre Bangala better known by his stage name ROCSTRONG, has been steadily generating quite a buzz.  The Dublin raised singer attracts crowds ranging from Funk/Rock  to Indie/Rock and Electro Pop.

The Congo-born, South Dublin artist began writing music at a young age. Having been raised by a father and a sister who were both musicians, talent naturally ran deep in his blood. After spending years working discover his unique sound, he cites great musicians of the likes of Prince, James Brown, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and Pharrell Williams as his main influences.

Rocstrong was crowned the Irish breakthrough Artist of the year in 2014 (Hot Press) and has been very active on the Irish music scene since then. He is currently working on his first EP titled S.O.W.Y.G (Show Off What You Got) due for a summer 2016 release. – @Body & Soul
