Those Black Marks are a newly established four piece rock band based in Dublin. The band originates from a wealth of experience contributed by each members previous music projects. Meeting together for the first time in March 2015 Those Black Marks picked up and played one track and decided that was it. Chemistry doesn’t fall into place much quicker than this, the band fused from the first beat. Their music has a bold contemporary rock sound likened to that of influences such as Biffy Clyro and Muse with undertones of a 90’s grunge era unwilling to be forgotten from giants like Smashing Pumpkins and Foo Fighters.
The bands recorded material is of a standard second to none with commendations, through tracks carried forward from a past project, by none less than music titans such as Jeff Beck and Tom Waits. But their game really kicks off when they hit the stage. A charged live performance that needs to be witnessed to understand, Those Black Marks blast off the stage with a show sure to excite and engage first time goers as much as existing fans. Their new album, Darwinian, is due for imminent release with a launch show in Whelan’s of Wexford Street this coming Friday.
