Rachel Grace – Interview

Rachel Grace is a young 15 year old singer-songwriter who hails from Wexford. She takes her musical influences anywhere from Brittany Spears all the way to AC/DC and everything in between. Penning and scoring her first song at just 10 years of age in primary school, the song titled ‘The Only Way’, was featured on her self-funded debut album Song For You which was released in 2015 and is available to listen to on Spotify.

An avid busker, she can be found most weekends on the streets of her hometown of Wexford and recently had the privilege to be the support for the amazing Wallis Bird in Enniscorthy, followed in May with another support slot for the equally brilliant Keith Plunkett.

In February 2017 she had the opportunity to be filmed performing her music for the well-renowned Declan Sessions. April 2017 saw her partake in a buskers battle for charity in the National Opera House in Wexford for which she
received a full standing ovation for her rendition of ‘I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérable. A very busy year also saw her win a local ‘Battle of the Buskers’ competition in Wexford competing against 9 other young artists who were all from Wexford too in May.

We were delighted to have Rachel Grace visit us in The Sound Feed studio for a chat about all things music, and also a brilliant performance of her original track ‘Nancy’, a song about her grandfather and his time travelling around the country with his show band, reflecting on the time he was missing out on with his wife of the song’s title.
