Dublin-based electronic trio Tanjier were the headliners for The Sound Feed‘s latest monthly showcase at Sin É, Dublin. Their rousing set was received incredibly well by the audience and justifies their billing as one of the must see live acts on the Irish music scene right now.
Having formed in 2015 after meeting in university in Dublin and their music is influenced by the likes of London Grammar and The 1975. Their sound ‘feels both modern and yet has all the elegance and grace of a bygone era’ (Dublinconcerts.ie). They are the current RTÉ 2FM Play the Picnic winners and have been called ‘one of the most hotly tipped acts to appear’ with a sound that is ‘so dark and alluring, haunting and rife with meaning’ (Dublinconcerts.ie).
Their story began in Dublin where Mickey (Guitar and Vocals) and Tommy (Keys and Vocals) met while in university. They began playing music in empty lecture rooms, and bringing their diverse influences together. When Mickey’s old friend Ronan (Bass and Percussion) was drafted in to play bass, a positive change in dynamics occurred and Tanjier was born.
